Polemos
Academy is proud to present its 2003 Summer Programme
under the direction of award-winning Harvard Ph.D.
Candidate and Teaching Fellow in the Harvard College
Core programme, Mr. Shademan M. Akhavan.
The Summer Programme has 7 weekly Sessions beginning
July 7, 2003 and ending August 22, 2003. Each Session
consists of five days of intensive academic, artistic
and athletic programmes aimed at academically keen
and capable students aged 12 -17 who have the natural
talent, aptitude and ambition to enter Ivy League
universities in the U.S., or matriculate in Oxford
or Cambridge.
Please note that there is no correspondence between
the Academy's programmes or course offerings and Ontario's
OSSD courses as the latter curriculum is of little
value in preparing for admission to elite U.S. undergraduate
colleges.
Students who will be entering Grades 7 to 12 in September
2003 may enroll in the Academy's Half-Day or Full-Day
programmes over 1-week, 2-week, 3-week and 4-week
Terms. This flexibility allows students to choose
a programme that best serves their educational needs
and objectives, given their current abilities, skills
and stamina, as well as their other plans or obligations
during Summer 2003.
Throughout the Summer Programme, students will be
grouped into three Divisions for the best learning
outcomes: Junior (Grades 7 & 8), Intermediate
(Grades 9 & 10) and Senior (Grades 11 & 12).
Gifted and scholastically precocious students entering
Grade 6 and of sufficient maturity may enroll in the
Junior Division with the permission of the Director
of Studies.
